The stadium at night, 2 vs 2 over the internet and a commentator who speaks
The game's biggest update: matches by day, at sunset or at night, under rain, snow or a storm; 2 vs 2 over the internet and friends' matches to watch live; a commentator with a voice in your language; crazy rules, the World Cup of nations, the League, the challenge of the day and home screen widgets.
Taca Taca gets its longest list of new things since launch: the stadium changes with the hour and the weather, you can play in pairs over the internet and every goal has someone to call it.
The stadium, at any hour
By day, at sunset or at night. When setting up the match you pick the hour —Now, Day, Sunset or Night— and see the stadium just as it will be. «Now» follows the real clock.
The weather reaches the stadium. Rain and snow shine in the floodlight beams, wet grass gives the lights back, snow covers the pitch and fog swallows the stands.
Storm. New: wind-driven rain, lightning that lights up the whole stadium and thunder after it.
Play and watch over the internet
2 vs 2. One player creates the room and shares the code; up to three friends join with it, each on their own phone. The computer fills the empty seats.
Spectator mode. With the room code you can watch a friend's match live, with the names, the kits and the score.
Match commentary
A commentator. Every goal, big save and shot off the post gets its line, low on the screen like a TV caption.
Out loud. The phone's own voice says the line, in the game's language. It is on by default and can be turned off in Settings.
More ways to play
Crazy rules. Ice, Turbo, Double (goals from the goalkeeper or the defence count twice), Tilted table and Golden goal. And spin shots: a diagonal flick bends the ball.
World Cup of nations. 32 nations in 8 groups, the round of 16 and a night final with fireworks.
Challenge of the day. The same situation for everyone every day, with a world table.
League and Situations. A league in three divisions and twelve challenges that start with the match already under way.
Dated events. Halloween, Christmas, New Year and other dates dress the table for a few days.
Your team and your numbers
Your squad. A name and a shirt number for each line; the scorer shows under GOAL and the game keeps the top scorer table.
Your supporters. Their colour, their chant and their banner in the stand.
After the match. A shot map, the goal of the match in slow motion and a tip from the coach. The replays you like are kept in My best goals.
Medals and stats. Bronze, silver, gold and platinum medals, and your personal stats with charts.
Home screen widgets
On Android and iPhone. A widget with your streak and today's challenges, and a big one with pages: today, your ranking, the world top with flags and the day's moves, your matches, what you have in progress and the news.
Also
Before a goal goes up to the public wall of plays, the game asks you, and only your own goals go.
On Apple devices the game now connects to Game Center: the world ranking, the achievements and your progress saved in the cloud, to carry on where you were on any of them.
The biggest update to the Atari 8-bit version: an animated title with POKEY music, a jumping crowd, striped grass, a ball that lifts off the table and three stadiums. For the 800XL, the 65XE and the whole family with 48 KB.
